Soil testing is a pet peeve issue. Tests are relatively cheap so why jeopardize your time and money only to wait 2 months to find your disappointment?

There are so many variables to individual soils so the only possible way to know what you need is to have it tested.  The test could save you from buying and applying things you don't need.

Lime is cheap and it helps makes the nutrients usable so if you’ve only got limited resources, at least get lime. It will help get whatever you’ve got in the ground to your plants.   

Not much reason to make this long winded; just test it and follow the recommendations.
